Flutterwave

Send a payment link, check whether it was paid, and start a workflow when a payment completes.

Flutterwave

Flutterwave takes card, bank, USSD and mobile money payments in many African currencies. luftflow uses it three ways:

  • Send a payment link makes a Flutterwave checkout page for an amount and an email address. The flow sends the page's address on, by SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Check a payment asks Flutterwave how that link's payment went: paid, failed, or not paid yet.
  • A payment completes starts a workflow each time Flutterwave confirms a successful charge, with the payer's email, phone, the amount and the reference.

Keys

Open the Flutterwave dashboard, then Settings → API Keys.

  • For staging, switch to test mode and copy the secret key (FLWSECK_TEST-…). Nobody is charged in test mode.
  • For live, copy the live secret key (FLWSECK-…).

Paste each into Connectors → Flutterwave in luftflow, choose the country, which sets the currency, and give the page payers return to after paying, such as your own thank-you page.

Amounts

Write amounts in the currency's main unit, such as 250 for ₦250. Flutterwave takes them that way too.

Starting a workflow when a payment completes

Choose A payment completes in Flutterwave under Change how it starts, then follow Set it up in Flutterwave. Flutterwave proves each call with a secret hash you choose: type the same phrase in the dashboard's Settings → Webhooks and on the setup page. Only successful charge.completed events start a run; other events are answered and ignored, and a repeated event never starts a second run.
