Send messages from your Telegram bot, and start a workflow when someone messages it.
Telegram
luftflow works through a Telegram bot your team owns. It can:
- Send a message from the bot to a chat, such as the person who just wrote to it.
- Start a workflow when someone messages the bot, with their chat, their name and what they wrote.
A bot can write only to people who have messaged it first, or to groups it was added to.
The bot
Message @BotFather on Telegram, send /newbot, and follow its questions. It answers with the bot's token, such as 123456:ABC-DEF…. Paste it into Connectors → Telegram. Use a separate test bot for staging.
Telegram names a bot only by putting its token in each call's address. luftflow records calls with the token's name in place of the token, so it never shows up in Traffic, a run's record or a log.
Starting a workflow when someone messages the bot
Choose Someone messages the bot on Telegram under Change how it starts, then follow Set it up in Telegram. Choose a webhook secret, save it on the setup page, then point the bot at luftflow by opening the setWebhook address the setup page describes in a browser. Telegram sends the secret with every message, and a message delivered twice never starts two runs.
